The scattered thoughts of a mad man

possibly your doing too many lifts &/or sets if your rests are short (which is also a relative term)

If you were doing 9 sets of squats & resting 3-4 minutes...after doing cleans, push presses & rows, with the same number of sets/reps...then you may be doing too much

I lift as fast as I can, and take the smallest rest between sets as I can, usually between 1-5 mins.

Intense is a relative term.

I push myself as hard as I can...

Good for you.
Intensity of work is indeed relative - results are tangible.

I usually train for around 2 hours.

Sometimes it will take me 40mins just to squat.

I'm not overtrained and I very rarely get sick.

I'm certain this is because my diet and sleep are perfect. If I don't eat or sleep right I start to feel average very quickly.

So Nick, you're not a believer in that traditional stuff of being basically rooted after 30-60 minutes? Hormones and all that? Or would you say that applies to people with an ordinary rest and diet, but with good rest/diet you can do more?

I"m like Nick. My (well planned) training sessions usually go for from 90 minutes to 2 hours. Working with usually 4-5 lifts. I find that if i have a high GI drink (for example a slightly diluted powerade) towards the half way mark, i remain productive & able to keep going forward.

Like Nick, I'm never sick. Like, never. I eat great. I sleep like a log. Your body doesn't know time, it just knows when you've stopped the stimulation.
