the smith machine gets so much "bro hating" its beyond boring...
If your a noob and scared cause your working out alone it has it's place for benching and shoulder pressing but for squatting I think it should be avoided like the plague. Even for noobs their better off benching and pressing with db's but I understand the appeal of the smith.
There is no possible way to bench safely in a smith machine......
Squats would be much safer
I agree, Im not saying its good in any way, shape or form. They are fucking horrid.
But no body should ever bench in them
I see so many trainers showing people how to squat in the smith machine, they never show them how to squat in the rack.
