also keep in mind that benching and squatting are using completely different muscle groups and they react different. after having to grind out a rep on bench, the chances of grinding out another are very very slim. but after grinding out a rep on squats, i find i can continue. the other night (tuesday i think) i was in my first set of squats and had to grind through rep 3, then i continued to finish my set of 6. and obviously form contributes, if you have a bad rep on squats, chances are you will need to grind it out. it doesnt mean you are at your limit, just means you haven't done something right with that rep.
