I've been using the SSB at the gym, much better than a regular squat bar I think.

Yeah ive pretty much only used the SSB for squatting for years now.

I don’t know what the situation is now but there was a cheap one you could buy for around $150. It’s a cheap made SSB but will works fine for weights under 200kg.
 
The squat bar is a magnificent tool for exercise. The squat bar has curves on both ends that help you to do squats differently. It's good for those people with sensitive shoulders, you don’t need to keep your shoulders in an unnatural way while squatting your shoulder will normally remain under constant tension. When you use the squat your upper body remains straight
