I just did the same Whitty, horrible to see something like that. Thoughts are with his friends and family - what a horrible time for them. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.
Yea crazy, freak thing to happen - never ever want to see a player go through that - I didnt find the tackle hard to watch but when he is on the ground shouting and he knows something is wrong....not good to see....Unsure if he will be able to come back from this - they said at least a 2 year recovery time...
Did Brent Tate break his neck or was it just a serious injury? He would def be a player/person to look upto for the guy....
Yea I def did not agree with them showing the tackle over and over again last night on the footy show - as I mentioned in my other post the worst part is when he is laying on the ground and you can see on his face that he knows he has done something very serious.....and they showed an extended version of that....not good form at all....
I hadnt seen the immediate aftermath of the tackle before, that was haunting. I'm glad my daughter didnt see that.
The look on his face was pure panic & fright.
He was struggling to breathe. When we breathe, we use ALOT of muscles for it, without those, they struggle, hence why he is on a ventilator while in the coma.

It doesn't matter if the cord is still intact, it can be damaged beyond repair without that unfortunately.
He may have a fusion still to keep it stable and so he can hold his head up. Terrible situation. My wife will be interviewed next week about the injury as some news program is doing a story on spinal injuries in footy. I'll let you know when it goes to air.
