PTC version 2.0

We've been having mini comps most nights after training, the guys seem to love them.

Discussing this tonight, we thought we would have a little fuck around gym comp for some of the PTC regulars.

Its a SUPERMAN comp, squat, bench, dead, press, snatch, C&J. Totals, Glossbrenner and Sinclair scores......winner

Its a PL total and a REWIND OL total, circa 1972

There is only a handful of guys who can do this so the 6 lifts shouldnt take long.

All lifts will be judged with strict interpretations. I might take some vids.

Knee wraps and belts allowed

It'll just be a casual thing on a Sunday afternoon, it a no entry fee fuck around

The only guys I can see doing it are

Armando
Alen
Daryl
Max
Dim
Mick
Wayne

Not sure on Gareth and Pierres snatching lol

Power snatch? Least the training and plates gets them a score lol

Matrix is in, we now have 4 power racks at PTC plus 5 squat stands/racks.

No excuse for not squatting now.

At PTC you can have 12 people squatting at once in racks or stands in 9 racks. Not sure if there is a place in Aus that would have that many places to squat. The only problem now there isn't enough bars

Markos,

For a guy who didn't have a power rack until recently, your collection sure is growing fast.

Thanks to you big fella.

The change in the gym and training has changed dramaticly since Adrian sent the first rack. We were operating in 30 square meters, couldnt fit many lifters in, easy to watch everyone

We are now in 120 square meters, clientel is way up, 65 listed footballers on top.

Just me and Max.

Much harder to watch everyone.

My experienced lifters are mainly in the other room lifting off stands, they seldom miss a squat and are excellent spotters. Some still love the racks. Gareth and Sean only really squat in racks.

The footballers are shit squatters and shittier spotters, they always squat in racks.

These racks need to be bolted down, meaning they are not always the best option for a home gym, but excellent for a commercial gym.

I have 2 MM racks from Adrian, not bolted and no need to, plus the 2 from Ironedge, which are also excellent but need to be bolted.

Both styles are excellent and super strong, both have pluses and minuses.

There will never be a piece of equipment that is as perfect as the humble barbell.

I agree, now to really fuck with your head on that topic, see my recent posts to my PT thread.
'fucking with head' indeed:

Most cases of injuries in gyms or during supervised training don't go to trial, someone sues, and either the case is quickly dropped as it's without merit, or it has some possible merit, and is settled out of court with a confidentiality agreement.

Courts in our common law Commonwealth countries are usually fairly reasonable in this respect. The trainer or organisation usually only suffer if they've been extremely stupid. For example, if they get a heavy guy to "bench press" on a swiss ball with heavy weights, it bursts and he falls and breaks his ribs (as Lon Kilgore notes, swiss ball manufacturer's specs tell you not to use weights with them).
WHY THE F**K ARE YOU(/THEY) BENCHING ON A SWISS BALL IN THE FIRST PLACE? It is the most retarded fkn thing I've ever seen, short of someone actually paying a PT that makes them do "flutter kicks", no weight squats/lunges/jumps/skipping/basically any excercise that does not require actual equipment or specialist training (such as gymnastics)..............because you have to join a gym, get a PT and pay fees to 'unlock' these 'movements' to be able to do them , wait till I release my cheat book with the unlocking codes, all you PT's will be out of jobs.

To walk up stairs, press back, back, forward, A, A, B, X
To carry bags of groceries to the car, press down, left, right, A+B
To bend down with your school bag on, press up, up, down, A+B
To pick your kid up, press down, up, up, hold B

Pressing on a Swiss ball is pretty popular in Westside circles
Not the worst assistance exercise going around, or as a repetition effort exercise

Disclaimer: in no way am I suggesting that there are any Swiss balls at PTC, merely that I've seen said exercise used by 'Westside' gyms on the Tube

Actually I was referring not to the pressing on a swiss ball episode, but the 3rd year exercise science student who didn't know what an olympic barbell was.

But the swiss ball exercises also give us a good example of why a simple barbell is better.

Okay, please take this shit out of the PTC thread.

Someone will reads Grayahams post and think its a real thing and link it to PTC

Cheers fellas, and I liked your last newsletter Kyle, very good
