Powerlifting: The Good, Bad and Ugly - tnation article

Actually 0ni, that came from the getglutes argument. I was already banned by the time the "glute bench" came out.

I don't think there are any powerlifting feds that meet IOC requirements. For example, the USA IPF affiliate does not adhere to WADA accredited testing, at least prior to 2014.

This is not an IOC requirement believe it or not. Many established olympic sports lack proper national testing regimes.

In fact, one of the problems with IOC recognition is that the positive rate for IPF is too high. IOC wants under 1% positive rate. Ironically, the IPF would actually be better off if its testing was less effective, resulting in less positive doping results. True story.

the other aspect of USAPL testing (including by the IPF), is very little testing of elite USA lifters with regard to most important out-of-comp testing.

Of the five elite USA lifters visiting Aust in recent years, only 2 out-of comp test between them in 2012 and 2013.

Between 2008 and 2013, just 17 IPF affiliates had an average 5+ out-of-comp tests per year in WADA labs, 12 averaged 10+ tests per year, 11 averaged 20+ per year, and just 7 nations exceeded the Australian average of 29 per year (Sweden, Russia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Belgium and Ukraine).
