Please critique my diet

The fundamentals behind WHY things work (I.E fat loss) is the be all and end all.

It is then of personal preference on HOW you impliment those fundamentals.

Let's look at the anecdotal evidence, I ate choicolate and processed foods on my cut and got to ~5% BF. Someone else cut out sugar and lost weight.

Point being, the fundamentals lead to the results not the personal preference. The personal preference only allowed for adherence to the 'diet'.

I'm not directing this at anyone (as it has been said 100 times and PROVEN), I just want to give the full picture and help the OP understand that dieting/calorie restricting does not need to be what you hear in the mainstream or bodybuilding circles.

You would definitely have needed to cut the sugar due to your very poor insulin sensitivity due to such a high level of fat originally plus your most likely high intake of it. As you were trying to your correct eating habits it was a good idea as, sugar is one way of easily overeating especially a sugary and fatty Max Brenner dish (hi Kev). Once you corrected those issues though adding some sugar back in would not make an issue as you would find that as you have a lot more muscle now your insulin sensitivity has come back to a more normal level (hopefully) and that sugar is less an issue for you especially in the eating habits area (hopefully again). Overall though the main important point was reducing sugar helped you easily reduce your calorie intake the same goes for people reducing fat.

Also refined sugar also may be slightly unhealthy for you in a non weight gain/loss manner and that is one reason why people would remove it. Though the goal should be moderation it all still depends on the person's ability to moderate. Removing BBQ sauce is not great, plus Ronnie Coleman smashed BBQ sauce on his chicken and he was ripped

There is also nothing wrong with Deep's spreading of protein as it helped her control her diet. Perfect reason to, me though I am the opposite and bigger meals help me control my diet better. Spreading the protein around does nothing for fat loss but use it as an idea to keep you satiated which is what I think Deep was alluding to.
