The fundamentals behind WHY things work (I.E fat loss) is the be all and end all.
It is then of personal preference on HOW you impliment those fundamentals.
Let's look at the anecdotal evidence, I ate choicolate and processed foods on my cut and got to ~5% BF. Someone else cut out sugar and lost weight.
Point being, the fundamentals lead to the results not the personal preference. The personal preference only allowed for adherence to the 'diet'.
I'm not directing this at anyone (as it has been said 100 times and PROVEN), I just want to give the full picture and help the OP understand that dieting/calorie restricting does not need to be what you hear in the mainstream or bodybuilding circles.
