Less whining, more action.
Forget the politics.
ALL the feds have politics. ALL the feds have issues with management and the minute of running an organisation. ALL sports groups have exactly the same issues. Yes, gentle reader. Even, or especially, the IOC, considered the managing body for the greatest sporting event on the planet (unless you are a follower of the US NFL, where to be a world champion, you just have to be a national champion).
Focus on the important stuff. Turning up to test your limits under strict standards. Pushing yourself past your comfort level. Achieving greatness, even if only in comparison to your past self.
I dont compete because, or despite, who is in charge. As long as I get a fair crack on the platform, all that other stuff doesn't matter.
I joined PA simply because the competition venue was 15 minutes away from where I lived. Marcos ran his comps 1-1 1/5 hours drive away. It was just more accessible to me. I'm happy with my choice because when I set a world record or win a medal on the international or national stage, I have earned it and I have done so under the strictest judging in the sport.
If you want more out of your gym life than just maintaining what you "used to do", then compete. It gives you a goal, it gives you a schedule to meet, it gives you purpose and it gives you motivation and focus, a reason to train harder than you ever have before.
If you don't want to do any of that, then go do crossfit and have fun. There is no shame in that, but don't dissuade others from achieving greatness.
