L-Sit Pull Ups gripping the bar exactly how Mark Rippetoe says never to grip the bar. As much as possible, you want to have your hands in the position they'll end up in at the top of the muscle up, from the bottom of it. Having your feet forward will tip your balance so that you can get around the bar with relative ease.
I can do 3 of these, unassisted, on a good day. I found that my grip was extremely important. I wasn't starting off with a 'false' grip and found that I lost all of my momentum trying to roll my hands over the bar.
Never tried on rings, but with rings the 'false' grip would be a prerequisite, so they may make it easier for you to get started without any kipping. If you have rings, you could also do a ton of other men's gymnastics style workouts, like the "Iron Cross" etc.
Thanks guys. I REALLY love these. Unfortunately them and bb bench press are the two exercises which seem to aggravate my shoulder injury so I can't push them like I used to.
I "just" started practicing the 360 muscle up on the low bar last week. You do you're normal muscle up and then at the top, kip off a bit and push with arms and spin 360 and then grab the bar and do another one. I've only made it 270deg so far!

Good stuff guys
Mine will be on hold for a while.
Sciatic pain is back and some tests have revealed ive lost some sensation in my left foot. I'm shitting myself
There's a ton of correctable problems that can cause it, I wouldn't be too worried. My BIL had a herniated disc that impinged his S1 nerve, causing numbness in the outside of his foot. Required surgery, but he's good as new. Dude moves furniture for a living.

I've got a fair idea what your going through, you can read about it in the first couple of pages of my diary.
Have the discs bulges or have they ruptured?
Can you walk without increased pain?
How hard is it for your to piss?
Does it hurt to sit in a chair?
Take it easy dude and don't listen to anyone tell you 'she'll be right' They have no comprehension of the pain, discomfort or how delicate these injuries need to be handled. I would not be lifting any weights AT ALL until you've seen the specialist.

Thanks mate.
Yes, it is the worst pain I've felt. I've broken cheekbones, collarbones, all my fingers and dislocated an elbow, they are nothing compared to this crap.
Going to toilet is ok, but driving or sitting in a car is pretty tough. Getting results back today.
How long we're you out of action for??
