This shows a clear lack of understanding of what it takes to be a professional sportsman. They put their health on the line every time the play and train. They train fucking hard, they are the best of the best. Any other career they could have had gets put on hold. The average career is a few years. aside from the 1% that get into the media once you are finished you are on your own with skills that don't translate into the real world. They probably don't get paid enough.

Listen to the radio and they have a caller on, she starts with " I haven't watched the video but he should be sacked". And they give people like this a voice.

Another rings and says they should limit what these guys get payed. I'm sure he would be happy if his pay was docked because someone at work got pissed in their free time.

Then I read some gender expert saying that the act on the dog is clearly a dispespectful act towards women.

What the fuck is going on.
 

Clearly the whole world has gone farkin MAD, i am seriously thinking about trying my best to give up following the news and media, coz all you hear is people complaining, being outraged or giving their personal opinions instead of reporting the news, then to add to this are all the others on social media who are actually nobodies who i couldnt give 2 fucks about their opinion being outraged, here's my opinion on these people, i dont give a single fuck about your bullshit outrage or opinion on ANYTHING so why give it????
 
Mobile phones have destroyed privacy. Dickheads feel the need to video or photograph everything.
 
I see Repacked's point of view clearly, and I also see the other side of the argument. I'm taking a micro view at this incident because like Barry, I was (based on the news), expecting to see doom and gloom once I watched the video clip...., I didn't, and it was such an anticlimax to the whole incident that was (in my opinion), blown incredibly out of proportion....as if someone was looking for an opportunity to find a scapegoat to make an example out of, and then we get this.

Looking at it from a micro-level, here's my analysis of the situation based on what my eyes saw rather than what my ears were bombarded with listening to the media.

1. He kissed the same person who asked him to leave soon after.

2. Males (at least I), would read that kiss as "you're welcome here, make yourself at home." And yes she did smile after he gently kissed her, confirming what I just said about feeling liked and welcomed.

3. The dog was oblivious to the act performed on him (just in case we've got some animal rights group reading here).

4. She only got really offended when the intercourse simulation was performed on her darling dog, and only then insisted on the footballer leaving her premises.

5. So we've got a dog owner who was hurt on behalf of her animal, and reacted assertively in protest of such an act.

6. I repeat, Mitchell calmly stood up and walked out of the unit, without any commotion or further misbehavior towards anyone in that video.

The above was what I saw and no more.

Re the privacy act (if there's such an act)..., you and I can film anyone we want for as long as they are in a public domain..., that I know, even though some police officers would want us to believe differently. Mitchell was not in a public domain but a private one, therefore--should not the person who filmed him be punishable by law if Mitchell decided to sue for damages? After all, I certainly would want my permission taken if and when someone decided to film me at home and then make public what they've filmed.

Repacked I've noticed emphasised the monetary benefits these sort of players receive etc. I'm asking, had it not been for the large sum of money that they get, would your view (Repacked) be any different from what it is currently?

Back at the AIS, we were fined the equivalent of what is $300 in today's money if we skipped a training session. And some did due to night clubbing the night before the morning training session. We were not earning money from the sport, but had money spent on us in order to excel and perform well. So I can understand the fine bit. Why not simply fine the footballer instead of making something out of nothing, not only national news, but (embarrassingly at that), world news!

I don't know about you, but I'm still scratching my head, and that's coming from someone who is totally against alcohol, but fully respectful of people's rights to be human in their private domain especially when no harm is done and no one is hurt...., (except someone's feelings over her dog) as was the case in this very unfortunate incident!!

The guy admitted today that he has a problem with alcohol, an issue so many have, yet do not admit, or simply deny having. Admitting you have a problem is half way there to getting it solved, so I'm glad he has acknowledge that fact at least.

If it seems from the outset that I've been defending or excusing Mitchell's behaviour, I am not. What I'm doing is defending his right to privacy when behind closed doors, something we all want and would fight to hold on to, that's all.

As for the past legends you've put up, they were lucky perhaps they weren't caught on film, or people respected other people's privacy a bit more back then.

I remember seeing a porn movie back in the 70s called the Italian Stallion, starring none other than the now world famous Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone. Hollywood doesn't seem to mind Stallone's past "performance" so it seems, yet I've heard of others been crucified so to speak for appearing half naked in a magazine photo-shoot. We don't seem to have consistency in reprimanding/punishing people, but we seem, (or at least it seems to me), that we do have partiality of sort.

I do not follow the sport of football, and I've never heard of Mitchell Pearce until yesterday afternoon. The one great thing that came out of all this, is that the young man has admitted to himself and to the rest of the nation, that he's go an alcohol problem and will be doing something about it. If that's not a positive outcome for one young Aussie man, I don't know what is.

Well if admitting he has a problem and he actually wants to change from being a complete fuckhead at parties then good for him i spose.

On the other hand though he's only young and inexperienced with how society works so i can certainly see your point in that some things should remain private.

The chookies should sic a minder on him now and makes sure he doesnt go over hiw own limits
 
Apparently it was a strangers house and now there are allegations of other shenanigans at the pub prior to all this. *shocked gasp*
 

most of them would probably breaking rocks with other rocks if they didnt play footy, and they dont even get paid that much compared to other sports.

In all seriousness though, you gotta wonder what his Father thinks of all these controversies. Junior never touched a drop of Alcohol in his life, never tasted junk food, never got involved in anything on or off the field and was an absolute role Model (even though he was a dirty Blue) and was a workhorse second-rower. Complete night and day between the Father and the Son!
