Halal


This is the thing. It's is all about profit, running anything at a loss is not sustainable in the long term. No one is farming for a loss, it's too hard a work to do it for fun.

It's what the consumer wants, cheap food. One reason why we are getting larger and larger farms is because the profit margins are tiny.

It's about profit and like I said healthy animals are always the most profitable and being about profit is why we are fine tuning our methods all the time. Unlike religious methods which are concreted in their ways.

I don't know why people see making money as a negative. We all have to do it.

Halal certified food is simply about making companies more money - don't look to deep into it - its a simple bigger market means more money - the more of the market you can capture the bigger chance of profit to be made.

And I have zero problem with it making them more money. I only have a problem with them claiming it is somehow better and the loudest here claiming that can't seem to list these benefits.

List them then. It doesn't seem you can. You can take the time to attempt insults ( I'm already in my SHED, we're in Australia here lol.) and start threads complaining about arguing but can't list what we should be talking note of.

The way to shut me down is list these supposed parts of halal that we should be talking note of.
 

I don't want to shut you down Baz you're a funny c*unt. Once again you make up your own rubbish and say it was what was said. I never said there was a list of 'benefits' offered by Halal slaughter over other methods. I have quoted and re-qouted myself in an attempt to show you what was actually written. Somehow between your eyes and your brain the text on the screen gets scrambled. Other people have gotten the jist of it, but not old Baz. Once again, if you read properly I'm sure you can reach a reasonable conclusion.
 
Anyone watch the Bolt Report today?
22 bodies that certify Halal meat, one posted it's profits, Muslims Australia of $650k, claiming it spends the profits on mosques, schools and other Islamic social events.
The other 21 do not list their profits nor disclose where they go.

Most likely indirect, they'd "donate" to a charity who passes it on to a welfare management centre who than passes it to a dodgy builder who passes it to his cousin contractor in he Middle East who passes it to his contact in Syria.

Someone claimed there were some halal methods that are beneficial in the slaughter / treatment of animals over conventional methods. I asked them to list any of these beneficial methods. Then the insults and diversion tactics started.
 
I'd be interested to see.

ive seen bloody hyenas pull down an animal, ones at its throat, while another is chewing on its balls, it's horrific.

Don't you bloody start. Read the post, I was not referring to the method of slaughter, despite what Baz would have you think.
 
Interesting points Baz -

From the RSPCA -

The vast majority of halal slaughter in Australia (including at export abattoirs) complies with this standard, that is, all animals are stunned prior to slaughter.

RSPCA UK 2015 -

In 2015 the Food Standards Agency (FSA)
published an Animal Welfare Survey
undertaken in abattoirs across Great Britain in
a one week period in September 2013. The
survey provided numbers of animals
slaughtered/killed by the Shechita and Halal
methods and indicated that a low percentage of
animals killed by all methods during this time
were not stunned before slaughter.


From Meat & Livestock Australia (non-Halal slaughter)-

Itis usually achieved by opening major blood vessels and the bleeding technique is specific to eachspecies. If the meat is to be used for human consumption the removal of blood from the carcass isvery important to ensure product quality and shelf life.

Non-Halal slaughter (from the RSPCA) -

As soon as the animal is stunned, it is shackled by a hind leg and then, within seconds, the large blood vessels are severed to induce bleeding (a process known as ‘sticking’).

In regards to the probable misconception that Halal slaughter that does not involve stunning prior to slaughter and involves the animal 'bleeding out' while concious -

In the Australian Standard (AS 4696:2007) there is a provision for ritual slaughter without prior stunning. This provision prescribes: “An animal that is stuck without first being stunned and is not rendered unconscious as part of its ritual slaughter is stunned without delay after it is stuck to ensure that it is rendered unconscious. (Meat and Livestock Australia).

Aside from the stunning prior to sticking, in a small percentage of cases where the animal is stunned immediately after sticking, what are the practical difference between the methods of slaughter? Serious question baz, not flaming. If you're in the industry you should be well versed on the subject.
