G'day all
My wife and I have been lifting for over a year now, she loves it just as much as I do which is great and keeps us so regularly in the gym.
We pretty much fell in love with powerlifting about 6 months ago after watching a shitload of Youtube videos and deciding what we want to focus on to give ourselves goals and build our interest into a hobby instead of "exercise".
My favourite lift is the deadlift (also my best lift of course), and my wife's fav is the squat of course.
I'm at double bodyweight deadlift now, and she's at double bodyweight squat. Short term we want double bodyweight for both lower body lifts.
Long term we want to keep upping our totals and enter some local meets.
I'm currently a bit of a fat 103kg, no plans to go down in weight but not really up in weight either but will be happy to lose fat % slowly as I get stronger.
The wife may lose 2kg, if she wants to complete in the 47kg class but we'll see how that goes after our next program.
We haven't decided whether to go for IPF/PA yet, or to join the other 3 (GPC, CAPO, WRPF), but not sure which ones offer the best experience in Australia yet have to do more research.
This looks like the only decent Aussie forum around so we thought it's time to join!
