BATB3 results and pics.

Not offended PTC, you're entirely right, Strongman is waaaaaaaay out of my league. I meant something like BATB - so September 2010 is the next one? Coolies

How do you guys go about lifting PB's in these comps? Do you get to warm up or is it simply grab the heavy **** and lift?

everyone warms up. there is a seperate bar for warm ups which everyone shares, when your ready and warmed up you attempt the 1RM so really you dont just do the 1RM you are also doing regular sets, i know i was was warming up to about 9-95% of my 1RM starting at around 5 reps down to a few singles so it became a day long session really

Ah I see.

So say (for example) 5 x 75%, 4 x 80%, 3 x 85%, 2 x 90%, 1 x 95% or something similar?

yeah something like that but because everyone is sharing the warm up bar you have to keep an eye on the weight going up on it and jump in for a few sets when you have to. if you turn your back for a bit the bar might jump from 40kg to 100kg

Depends on the lift as well Josh. I have 4 Olympic bars, but only 2 benches and squat racks. For cleans and DL, we habve plenty of bars.

By AD10, we will have a power rack and at least another bar. So 3 squat racks and 3 bench presses, as well as 5 Olympic bars, plenty of warm ups available. Nobody lifts until they are ready, regardless of how long it takes.

Sweet, thanks for the responses guys. I thought it would be something like that.

once again markos thanks for the awesome event that it was.. when i got back sunday i pretty much slept for 14 hours as the drive there and back was heaps tiring. oh plus the lifting contributed

Far out Brendon, some awesome lifts there. 180kg squat, NICE!

I'm pretty confident that only Nick would have a bigger total than Brendon on this site, but I stand to be corrected.
