-Glutes must be on the bench. No airborne ass.
-Weight of bar has to be MINIMUM of your bodyweight. If you weigh 177, no benching 175. Find...
Hi,
I'm seeking advice or even a basic program for increasing pullup reps, and additionally what is a realistic goal for pullup reps?. I'm referring to controlled good form with a wide overhand grip pullups, not kipping or super speed etc.
I can currently do 12 good form slowish pullups but...
How many pull ups, (not chin ups) can you do in a row?
Please
1. Must be of current, not your best 2 years ago
2. Just bodyweight, chin to bar till failure.
Just want to know the genuine maximums of the little and big guys.
I just did 15 and could not get 16 to chin, now time to get it...

Post here iphone and android apps for logging workouts. Preferably free ones. There are so many of them in the market, so after checking 2-3 of them I decided to ask you first :)
Anyone know of this being done? (squats) I googled it and got nothing.
I did 65kgx65 reps today and it got me thinking. Clearly that would be a SHITLOAD harder! I'd be thinking there would be big guys that could handle that tonnage but you definitely need some decent cardio/fitness in...
I've read many times about the benefits of 20 rep squat sets, and I've started adding a set of 20 reppers at around 60% of my 1RM at the end of my squat session. Needless to say they are fucking hard and get a bit messy. Oh well, no pain no gain.
Anyway, is it smart/sensible/advised/beneficial...

I'm interested to hear stories from anyone who feels they've made good physique improvements on any particular body parts, using a higher rep range......say anywhere between 12-20 or beyond.
I clearly recall Fadi saying once that he made the best gains on his back when he did higher reps for...
Anyone else keen? I'm just into self experimentation so going to start this next Monday the 20th August. Would be good to have a couple of people for support as I can see this being pretty tough!

Hi guys,
ive been enjoying reading others' training logs and am wondering why your reps are as example:
20 then 15 then 5 then 2 etc in an exercise such as bench
I have been only going by sets of 6 or 8.
My goal is to build size, is there an advantage to starting at a really high rep then...
Just wondering what your thoughts are on the type of training to give the best results. Heavier weights with less reps or more reps with lighter weights? I had friends who were given gym programs where there were about 20 reps per set yet when I used to train years ago we did heavier weights...

Hey,
taken from Mark Rippetoe's Practical Programming Novice Program, can someone please explain to me whether this means I should only add weight to pullups when i can do more than 15 in a single set or when I can do more than 15 across three sets (ie. 3x5).
I tried googling and can't find the...
my routine states that I should do 4 sets 10 reps of weighted pullups.
for now my max is (only bodyweight): 9 reps, 7 reps, 5 reps, 5 reps
so should I wait and try to add reps each workout till I get all 10, 10, 10, 10 and then start to adding weight and get sth like 10, 9, 8, 7 and next...

So from my understanding, lifting less weights and more reps helps to tone but lifting more weight and a reasonable amount of reps helps to bulk up. Is this true? or only half true?
Also, I have this annoying habit of clenching my teeth when lifting a really heavy weight and this kills my jaw...
I was checking out Tyrone's log today (it looks even more impressive in the morning light, but that's another story). I noticed he mentioned Pavel's Ladder rep method for pullups.
I've noticed in the past a couple of guys journals with these weird rep schemes I couldn't understand for pullups -...
Doiing the PTC beginner workout and Im doing regular deadlifts, not SLDL.
I get to the 5th or 6th rep on my 2nd and third set and have to stop because of my grip. This exercise is really trashing my arms, forearms in particular.
I am doing one hand over and one hand under.
Anything im...
