My squat day goes for 45min... my bench press workout is 1.5 hrs.
Should i be bulking up my squat day? Currently 3 exercises... squat, paused squat and lunges.
Or am i hitting my chest too hard... bench press, close grip, db bench, flys, then reverse flys, bicep curl and skullcrushers....

I'm using Fitness in the academic way. I remember when Fitness was defined as; Strength, Stamina and Flexibility. Then they added Speed and Co-ordination making five elements of Fitness. Old kunce in their 50-60's like Shrek, Woody, Goo, Spart, Dark etc can prolly remember when Fitness was just...

I've whacked this in here not because it has anything to do with powerlifting more so with just strength training as in hard workouts to improve strength , flexibility and muscle size which is a byproduct of strength but that's another topic.

Does anyone have a decent video guide to the two olympic lifts?
I'm thinking of adding them into my accessory days to help out with flexibility/mobility plus adding speed and balance into the mix.
Something with Lidia Valentin would be preferred, but, well, anything is OK, as long as they...

Hello,
I ask this for one reason... internet seems to have a variety of forms which are all classified 'correct'.
Most forms I notice are pretty much feet pointing forward (away from you in a straight line) then squat down and up.
I then found a powerlifting site that says feet should point...

Is this normal? I feel it probably is, I just had good flexibility from oly lifting, but now that I just train for strength they are shit..
Don't hurt when I'm benching or anything in particular, just front squats and general life
To be honest I stretch because being nimble feels good, I like being flexible and I thought it reduces chance of injury.
But this study appears to suggest I am incorrect on the third reason - it does not prevent injury!
In fact, all stretching does is make your body used to and good at...

I need a bit of advice on trying to sort out a shoulder flexibility issue. The best way to describe it I think is if I was to place a bar on my upper back for squats, I need to hold the bar right at the very end on the bar (next to the plates) as I am unable to bring my hands in any closer. So I...
So i'm looking to add some band work to my training, I was going to just get one of the 6 packs from gymdirect. Is this the best option considering i've never used them before and will get a range of sizes, plus works out cheaper than getting 3 or so individual pairs. What colours/resistance do...

Hey all got a few questions regarding this article
Sports Injuries: How to Prevent Shoulder Injuries - Men's Fitness
Long story short hurt my RC last year , took some time off from lifting , corrected some bad form . Getting back into it now and unfortunately getting some light pain...
I recently have had some discussion via pm with some members regarding flexibility and mobility - moonlighting as a massage therapist on the side, I've always believed both are important in anyone's training and am constantly working on both for myself.
I found this article by Mike Robertson...
Hey guys.
Do you know any good static or dynamic stretching to acheive A2G squat.
I have trouble squatting low before my knees start to come inwards which i would like to stop.
Any ideas?
Looking for a simple stretching routine that I could follow. I think I'd need to have some specific to the muscle group I'd worked, to do following the workout. But also others that I can incorporate into every day - upon rising for example. Any ideas? There are heaps of stretching...
I've been told by a coach that my flexibility is basically shiiithouse, and that I need to improve on it. I've known this for years. After 15-20 years of being sedentary it's no great shock to me that this is the case.
Interestingly, my wife, who hates exercise and has been even more inactive...
Getting to Know The Squat
If you’re serious about your strength, physique or physical prowess in general, the squat is arguably the best lift you can learn to perform in the gym. Simply put, there are a plethora of reasons you should start squatting TODAY even if you’ve never tried them...
