Hit a rep PB on Tues: squats 5×5 @ 130 and had a bit left in the tank. Equalled a DL rep PB of 5×5 @ 155 last night, even though i was fatigued and full of DOMS my form was way better than last time. Let's not talk bench, except I now realise how important intra abdominal pressure is for bench...

I've been in hiding, recovering from a middle back issue from late 2015. That was sorted late last year, I then competed in a sprint triathlon in March, and have finished 2 6 week programs, and equal rep PB'd squats 3×3 @ 140 and DL's 3x3 @ 160, touch and go. Finally have strength back up...

    2015 Front Squat Competition

My 110kg front squat from last saturday, with belt & velcro knee sleeves - hope it still counts! 89.9kg bw, 43yo. Pretty sure I got parallel. I then tried 115kg, but it didn't happen.

DL 180kg - +5kg PB (bit disappointed, 180 came up well, tried 190, stalled and failed, then tried for 185 but no go) OHP (strict): 65kg (+5kg) (BW 89.0kg) Still, improvement is improvement.

Yesterday was 1rm tests for next cycle. (didn't do deadlifts) PB R.BB.Sq 160kg (+10kg) PB F.BB.Sq 110kg (+20kg) PB BP 100kg (+10kg) - finally got this milestone done, went up pretty well.

Deadlift rep PB, 5x5 @ 155kg (1rm PB 175). This was at the end of a 5x5 cycle, squats on Tues was 5x5 @125kg which was also a rep PB. I didn't make target weight of bench this cycle, but I think I have finally sorted my technique and now need to apply it with some volume for two cycles to hit...

Bit late, but squatted 150kg (+7.5kg PB) and DL 175kg (+5kg PB) at the PTC novice comp early in July. Also totaled 415, +57.5 from last year (did a 395 unjudged a few months back). Rep PB of squats 120kg 5x5, and DL 145kg 5x5 this week (then 125kg 5x5 deficit & 125kg 3x5 wide grip DL - I was...

No mate, informal meet at monash YMCA, our group from Knox went down. Loosely followed IPF regs, was a fun get-together to try and set some PBs and get people used to following the ref calls. I wanted to see if I could get over 400kg total before PTC novice comp in July. Nearly did it. I...

    Benching

Great read. I've just improved my bench technique and weight by getting a more aggressive back arch to reduce ROM (which gets me on my toes) Only issue so far, my left foot (and lower leg) can get the shakes as the weight goes up (and I'm not talking much weight here!). Is there a way I can...

    The PB Thread

Our group went to a little informal meet last Saturday, I PB'd my squat 142.5kg (there was more in the tank) and pullled 150,165 OK, then 175kg. No lift for the 175 deadift, as I had to shuffle backwards to stabilise. Felt f$%king heavy. I have vids, but I don't think I'll post them... :)...

I've been hiding, pretty much just maintenance work (we have just had another family member join us, been a bit busy!). Did some 1rm work to figure out a program cycle a few weeks ago, and managed a 10kg increase in squat - 140kg PB. Raw, no belt, no wraps or wrist straps. Monday managed 165kg...

Been lifting, just not at PB level till last night: Rep PB 3x3 130kg squats (130kg single was previous PB), last week of 6 week cycle (missed a couple of weeks, been a bit crook). Managed 3x3 110kg pauses, and then 1x20 @ 60kg. The 20 reps after hurt more than the bigger weights!

    Correct. 100kg is getting closer.

Far out. My PB for close grip is 4x8 @ 60kg. Can't even bench 101kg!

We had an informal PL comp. at the gym last thursday, squatted PB 130kg, bench pressed PB 90kg, deadlift 160kg for 380kg total. Not the 400 I was after but all good (was fatigued before we started, work is a tough at the moment)

Good effort. I have been meaning to try some olympic lifts soon. Yesterday - PB deadlift, 170kg. Technique wasn't 100% but got it up.

Rep PB Bench, 2x85kg (why oh why is my bench coming up so slowly!) PB OHP - 3x3 @ 60kg (bounced a couple of lifts)

    @jzpowahz Cheers. Tonights outright squat PB - 3 @ 125kg (after 2x3 @120) Followed by 2x3 @ 110kg pause squats, then 3 @ 120kg paused. Feeling strong. 1rm max next week.

Deadlift - previous PB two sessions ago 3x 150, last friday 2 x 3x 150m 1x3 @ 155kg, had a bit left. Outright PB and rep PB. Small gains, but up is up.

Todays session: 120kg x 3 squat. Equal PB, but now a triple. 105 pause squat 3x3 pb rep. 55kg ohp 3x5, equal pb now repping. Feeling good, proper eating certainly helps. I think im closing on a 400 PL total, just have to improve the bench. :)
