I'm finding it hard to reconcile my opinions on this.

I don't believe in capital punishment for drug offences but these two bozos went to a country and broke laws for which they knew the consequences.
I don't know why their nationality makes this an issue or why their supposed rehab should mean they are spared. Of course they are going to rehabilitate if the alternative is death.

Indonesia has decided to use death as a deterrent for these crimes and sparing them just because we want them to weakens that, whether we agree with it in principle or not.
 
There would of been a time were they had to make the decision of risk vs reward, they chose to smuggle drugs through a country with the strictest laws against the crime and now have to pay the price, and they clearly didn't have enough cash or brains to bribe there way out of it, now they fucked, the end.
 
Scrambling jets to escort these clowns to death island? Really Indonesia? REALLY? .. Fekkin' drama queens.

I agree in theory with what has been stated. These fools knew the risks when doing. Its not like the rules come into effect as they were boarding the plane.

On the other hand, I cant help but feel empathy for them. Yeah, they knew the rules and risks, but death just seems so harsh and I've no doubt they've had ample time to assess their actions and feel genuine remorse for what they were trying to do.

Indonesia may offer an 11th hour reprieve, but even so, they seem intent on not wanting to kowtow to Australia and its requests.

Wouldn't hold my breath though..

Feel for their families.

That's pretty phucked. Even if they were trying to send a message to other would be smugglers.

^ Pretty much agree with all this.

They didn't just scramble jets, they had Helicopters and a lot of other shit. This Joko Widodo is a fucking dodo and a fucking joke. After yesterdays "display of strength" who now doesn't want to try to fuck up Indonesia in some way. I'll certainly be doing my best to NOT buy Indonesian products. I suspect his "show of strength" has made more people want to traffic drugs in or out of Indonesia just to stick it up that fag (not saying they'll do it).

do the crime, do the time, pretty simple.

Each country has different laws that must be obeyed. Indonesias is no drugs or death penalty for you. So be it.
 
when this crew did the job , it was reported that there was 150 heroin overdoses during the year here in Australia , so it is hard to feel sorry for the traffickers of death

it was no big secret about the death penalty in Indonesia

and as for being reformed , they had no real choice they have sat for 10years in jail so really had no choice

on a side note , i will be glad when they are shot so we can stop hearing about them every news break

Yep couldn't agree more, just shoot these guys and be done with it I am sick and tired about it, inb4 Abbott threatens to shirtfront Indonesia if the proceed with executions.
