l was pretty disappointing with Njkouani (spelling?) l always enjoyed watching him fight and thought of him as a exciting stand up fighter who would find his stand up to be more effective if he worked on his ground game / scrambles / TDD a little more. The better your ground game is the more effective your striking can be l think (think about the shields vs sexyama fight, no way shields beats akiyama in a muay thai fight but he out struck him because akiyama was gun shy and kept thinking he's going to get shot / pulled guard on) l think he'll get cut after the loss to Pichell who really won't do anything more than be a 50/50 fighter in the ufc before he gets cut without making it to a main card.

Tony Ferguson is a monster at LW. l don't quite know if he's as 'powerful' as Joe was making him out to be but he cracked his opponent pretty good for a flash KO. Some of the asian guys from Ring of Combat, ONE FC, Deep etc just don't quite cut it when it comes to being in the UFC. It's too much of a step up and the time difference and everything has to get to you. l'd like to see Ferguson get a step up in his next fight, possibly against.... J-Lau, Cerrone, Cruickshank (spelling?) Something like that anyway. The cruickshank fight would be more for the excitement than anything though.

Cheisa does what he always does and that's grapple fuck people. He coulnd't get the sub over the stocky brazillian guy but he's back in the W column. l doubt he'll go on to be a top 10 guy but he's a top 10-15 gate keeper l think.

Robbie Lawler had a great fight against Ellenberger who once again failed to really pull the trigger but Joe's commentating in this fight was so fucking biased even for him. Robbie would hit a jab and Jake would hit a 1-2-3 and he'd call "Robbie with a stiff jab!"... Lawler vs Condit maybe?? Since woodley and Rory are fighting. No idea, l'm assuming he'd want a quick turn around though so hopefully he gets it.

Cormier rag dolled Henderson essentially which l think quite a lot of people thought would happen. Cormier was bigger, stronger and faster than the aging non TRT Hendo. Hendo's sticking hasn't been quite up to par his last few fights l didn't think (l know he got the ko over shogun but he was getting cracked quite a bit and they were having a bigger impact than they usually do on him). He's tough as shit but l dont want to see him fall into the Chuck category before Dana makes him pull the pin...l think l would have liked to see Cormier vs Gus to fight jones but that would leaves jones on the outside for too long plus the UFC would miss out on a big re match than the Cormeir title fight.

Lawler looked like a animal as did TJ, beast mode for both them guys, how fucked up was it watching Varner trying to fight with a broken ankle, also I think DC or Gus will take JBJ belt, if not I will make his GOAT status official

Yeah I am thinking Lawlor, since returning to the UFC he has been a beast and seems to keep on improving, has a great chin and hits hard...

Wanderlai out of Sonnen fight, Belfort to fill in and fight Sonnen....

Sonnen has been saying for quite some time that Sliva ducks certain fights and that Sonnen v Silva won't happen due to this.

And you gotta agree with him to some extent and give Sonnen some credit, he gets in the cage with anyone and in fact chases the big fights, like Anderson (twice), Jones etc

l think Wandy is done to be honest, he doesn't seem in it anymore and his mystique of being the Axe Murderer has well and truly gone. He's no longer this feared berserker nobody wants to fight, he's over the hill and l'm assuming from the ducking of tests and what not on his own form of TRT.... He came off pretty bad on TUF as well which doesn't help either.

l think Non TRT belfort still beats non TRT sonnen though... l hope l'm wrong as l'm not a big fan of Belfort but l don't see sonnen winning this one.

yeah Pretty much this, even the guys on Sonnens team were saying how good he is regardless of stuff he had previously said. Sonnen has certainly gotten under Wanys skin and he has lost the plot a bit, just seems all a bit suss he didn't apply for a license and has been dodging tests in the lead up tot he fight, at least Sonnen while disagreeing with the decision has accepted it and moved on and now is supposedly fighting clean as others have done.

If Sonnen can get Belfort down I think he can win, if it stays standing the Belfort gets the win, I think it is as simple as that.

It's just tough for sonnen to win when you're strategy is to GNP your way to a decision win. He has to control belfort for 3-5 rounds (im assuming 5)(is this fight at MW by the way?) to pick up the W were Belfort can get a flash KO at any moment more or less in the fight. Again, l do hope sonnen wins though....

X-Factor in this fight, who deals better without their TRT? Belfort is a confidence fighter, methinks Sonnen stands a chance of breaking him before they even set foot in the octagon.

lt'll be interesting to see what belfort looks like at the weigh ins as well, l'm sure it'll be pretty far apart from what he looked like on "TRT". Him at 205 now wouldn't be pretty i'd imagine.

Hopefully Sonnen does mentally fuck him before the fight so he blows his gas tank in the first trying for a finish that's far off. Interesting fight if it gets past the 3rd though.
