Some advice would be great

If money is an object, I'd get a second hand rack/plates and spend the money on the barbell/bench because a good barbell is worth the investment, and most benches you come across will have a split (I like the ironmaster because it is a single unit while still allowing incline/decline). GHR is more a want than a necessity.

Thanks for the suggestions, it's not that money is no object, I have a 3k 'upper' spend limit.

Out of curiosity, why would you choose that Rogue rack over the commercial HPRSP and for $250 more, is it just personal preference or something?

The bench and bar do look good.

Rogue rack has better J hooks, better hole spacing for bench press, bolts to the ground, and imo looks better.

We have a muscle motion commercial rack at PTC, nothing wrong with it. It's nice and roomy for squatting. I think the J hooks would be a pain for bench press, but you can always grind/cut them down. I've never used it for benching, but I had used my powertec rack for years to bench with no issues so I can't see it being a dealbreaker.

Edit: I will add the muscle motion is a heavy ass rack. It's possible for a single person to jerk it around and get it where you want it eventually, but it is heavy.

Regarding the bar.... Choosing the right nurling is pretty important...

It's like picking up a cheese grater if you get it to course....

Get it too fine and you won't have any grip...

If I was setting up a home gym, money no object, I would get the following:

Rogue R4 power rack, bolted to the floor:
ROGUE R-4 POWER RACK - Rogue Fitness Australia

ABC BOP220 Barbell:
Australian Barbell Company |

If you wanted bumper plates I'd go with the Pendlay Elites:
muscledriveraus.com

If you wanted metal plates I'd go with Ivanko calibrated competition plates:
Australian Barbell Company |

Iron mind Super bench:
Ironmaster Super Bench

GHR:
Force USA - Glute Ham Raise Machine

A set of dumbells would be nice but they are really expensive new.

Any idea how much the Ivanko calibrated plates cost per kilo?

If I was getting stuff again.

Muscle motion commercial rack. Solid as a rock, no need to be bolted down like other light shit.

Texas power bar. Awesome knurling, awesome bar.

Cheap ass bar for rack pulls.

Ivanko calibrated plates. Thin and can fit heaps on the bar.

A good adjustable bench.

Things I wouldn't get again

GHR. Overrated bit of gear.

Bumpers. Only of benefit if doing oly lifts.

Pendlay bar. Nice bar but only for o lifts.

as for weights id only drop the 25s, and still keep the 15s, at the end of the day it will just come down to personal preference but we always seem to be fighting over the 15s at the gym i train at hahaha

If your fighting yourself for the 15s something is wrong lol

if you can get hold of 20s that are 450mm I'd go with

2x1,25kg
2x2,5kg
2x5kg
2x10kg
6x20kg

then when you hit 140kg on any of your lifts you get another pair of 20s

If your plates aren't the right size you can just prop up the plates with stacked mats to get them to the right height.
You'd save on having to deck out lots of flooring this way as the plates are already being dropped on mats
