Is there any advantage in doing your lifting in the morning or is the afternoon better , or is it just a personal preference thing?

I am guessing mornings would be best as by afternoon your energy is used up come afternoon you have none left

This issue of Muscle and Fitness pg 32 says that a study was found that training in the afternoon has more benefits for muscle gain and weight loss.

A 3% increase in lean muscle mass
and a decrease of 4% in body fat compared to morning trainers.

But I think most pros train both morning and night anyway.
