HAHA in the UK a thong is well you know i wont insult your inteligence. this just made me laugh, I shower at the gym and wear flipflops(thongs(not the underwear))

Never, I struggle to do a number 1 in the toilets. There's 2 doors to the toilets, once you open the first door and walk halfway it just reeks before you even open the second door so can't imagine the condition of the showers although I know someone who uses it regularly.
