Shitty gym advice?

By far the worst was about diet from a young pt to me.

I was young at the time and in experienced so took it as a green light.

He said when bulking eat whatever and how much of said food that you like... I.e. told me to feed up on Macca's

"you should take pre intra and post workout supplements"

"you should get on the gear (while 30% bodyfat), just take Clomid and you wont get boobs"

"you should take pre intra and post workout supplements"

That still bamboozles me actually, I've been told this quite a few times and I think it does work when I take them but it's by no means conclusive.

Fellow gym bros keep telling me to stim up before training when I first started, the more the better they say. We sell discounted stereo tix too, they say..

The main ingredients of creatine and beta alanine in them undeniably benefit the body for everyone in all training styles. There is no doubt that caffeine the other stims work to wake you up as well.

If your deadlifts touch the floor, it'll break the meniscus in your wrists. The meniscus that isn't there.

80% of your dietary consumption needs to be protein.

"All you need to do is bench, squat, deadlift"

"You don't need to train abs they get worked while doing other exercises"

.....Prob think of more but they are the 2 stupid things that I can think of off the top of my head

Surely just doing compounds isn't the worst gym advice you've heard Rugby88;?? Better than some PT telling you to stick to only machines, I bet. Yeah the abs one if a bit klutzy but if you're not flashing them @ stereo who cares.. lol

I don't believe it's shitty advice, if you only have access to a barbell and plates, it's the best tool to have to build strength.
Rugby is a throwing out the baby with the bath water type of guy.

You don't need much to stengthen the abs and you don't need to do many differing variations and endless reps and sets.
