Most people would have fast working carbs immediately after a workout.
Is it okay to just have plain white sugar and put it in my Protein shake or is it better to have fast carbs in the form of a piece of fruit ect?
Thanks in advance

Dextrose would be better than plain sugar

I was thinking that might be the better way to go (rather than sugar). Why would dextrose be better than plain sugar? (I do believe you, i just don't know why it would be better)
Thanks

Dextrose is straight glucose. The body will need to break down the crystals in plain sugar

Fructose can only be utilized by the liver... How much Liver glycogen do we think we have depleted?

Fructose has no effect on insulin levels also... Insulin and igf-1 share many ismilar properties. They are both extremley potent anabolic hormones...
