Looks a bit like osgood schlattus (spelling?)
How long have you had the lump and how old are you?
I have a lump similar and got it during a growth spurt at 14 (grew 15cm in one year).

Hey bro I'm 28. Did u need surgery rehab ect??

At 14 I had to give up sport for a year (which was very hard for me so took up swimming for That time as rugby, judo & cricket were out of the question). I did see a specialist who just diagnosed osgoods and had to rest it.
I did see a Physio for a while, but rest was the key for me then...

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osgood–Schlatter_disease spelling was good bro yea looks like you are right..it also ended my footy career at 14 which why I took up weights..how are u with squats ? It kills me that I can't increase my squat for the last 5 years.u have any tips or things to avoid ? I'm presuming it is this ill wait to c what X-ray says too tho but my instinct is that u are right

Squatting been fine (up until my recent back surgery due to other things)
Maybe try step-ups, lunges, box jumps, sissy squats instead. They give the quads a good smashing too.
Have you done your VMO exercises?? They'll help

Osgood?Schlatter disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looks like above link bro spelling was good..it

The radiologist didn't think it was osgood coz its not bones he thinks its muscle or tendons maybey muscle has ripped off bone or torn tendon..gotta get ultrasound saterday to confirm..gotta show doc X-ray tonite n e way at least if if its torn off bone or tendon surgery can fix it and I can my squat up to the 150 range I'm over doin reps around the 100 range sumo style to avoid pain.

If the lump is the top of your tibia it'd be Osgood Schlatter's for sure.

I've had it since I was 14 ish. Extremely painful whenever I bumped it on anything however I could still run around and play sport to my hearts content. Doesn't hurt anymore...the pain went away when I was about 18/19.

Bad movement patterns cause it...too much stress through rectus femoris. Looking back it's pretty obvious it developed in my shooting leg (played a lot of soccer when I was younger).

How do you do these without smashing your knees? (they're obviously brilliant on the quads as you can feel it immediately)

Don't smash ur quads if u have knee problems...unless u want to die in pain.

U need to work out where the problem is coming from first.

I find sumo Dosnt agrevate it I get more hammy involvement tho. I do lunges there fine and old school barbell hacks are fine any thing else and she lets me know about it.
