Hypertrophy and Rep-Range Chart...

Rippetoe and Kilgore put this chart together. Seems to contradict some opinions on rep range, specifically from those that say "anything over 15 reps is useless".

Thoughts?

Ah, I should have put that in quotes - i've heard folk say that "anything over 15 reps is useless".

This table says otherwise:

Best rep range for strength = 1-3
Best rep range for power = around 5
Best rep range for hypertrophy (sarcoplasmic) = around 20

I'd be interested to know where they got the data to compile the table. I've not seen any studies concluding that the 20 rep range has the largest effect on sarcoplasmic hypertrophy.
