heavy sets always a minute for me.
When I do hill runs, Ill run to the top, walk back down and check my pulse. If its below 130bpm I go straight away, otherwise wait until its back at 130bpm.

If I'm maxing out on 5x5 squats, then 5-8min, 3x5 around 3min, cardio reps (8-10) then 1-2min.

So it depends :p

enough to catch my breath
ATP/Creatine system takes 45 seconds to full replenish

I don't really have time to 'rest' at the gym. I tend to just superset everything and just rest while I'm working the antagonistic muscle (or unrelated muscle). If I'm not too short on time, I won't superset, but I will keep my rest periods short.

That's the ticket.
I love it, you do have some cojent thoughts at times this is one.

A muscle takes about 3 seconds to recover 25-30%

Too short a rest and your muscles won’t have recovered, too long and you won’t get the benefit. I take 1 minute rest between the sets.
