There was a WI batsman a few years back who got a 31 ball duck in a ODI. Can't remember his name, his career didn't take off (surprise surprise), but I remember he was batting number 3 in the order. Has to be the worst innings ever.

I guess there is always a record somewhere:
A. Players who faced at least 20 balls (Bs) before being dismissed for
a 'duck' in a Limited-overs International innings.

Bs
31 RS Morton WI v Aus Kuala Lumpur Sep 24, 2006
23 PV Simmons WI v NZ Margao Oct 26, 1994
22 Athar Ali Khan BD v Ind Bombay May 5, 1998
21 G Fowler Eng v NZ Sydney Jan 1, 1983
20 GF Labrooy SL v Eng Delhi Oct 15, 1989

Tests: The longest recorded duck (in terms of balls faced) is 77 balls by New Zealand's Geoff Allot v South Africa in Auckland in 1998-99. Batting second in response to South Africa's massive 621/5 declared Allot came in at number 11 and helped New Zealand use up of a fair amount of time - which eventually helped them save the match. There was opening batman that played for India that was slow as anything
Sehwag made 100 odd while this guy was still in single figures at the end of a days play

Australia flogged the Kiwi's. The ease pf the win surprised. Not so much the Aussies, but how poor the kiwi's were. Their bowling was woeful.

Must have been a cracker of a game last night. Wish I could have seen it.

Epic encounter ends in thrilling tie

India 338 (Tendulkar 120, Bresnan 5-48) tied with England 338 for 8 (Strauss 158, Bell 69, Zaheer 3-64)

On an evening that simply beggared belief, England tied with India in an incredible finale in Bangalore. Andrew Strauss was England's inspiration, producing an extraordinary 158 from 145 balls, the highest score by an English batsman in World Cup history, as England threatened the unthinkable, and set off in full pursuit of India's seemingly unobtainable total of 338 - a score that had been made possible by a brilliant 120 from Sachin Tendulkar.

England really should of won that game, they were cruising along with Ian Bell and Strauss set at the crease. I think they only needed something like 60 runs of 50 balls and england were only 2 down.. But then Zaheer Khan bowled an awesome last spell to 'save' India.

O'Brien blazes Ireland to glory

Ireland 329 for 7 (K O'Brien 113, Cusack 47, Swann 3-47) beat England 327 for 8 (Trott 92, Bell 81, Pietersen 59, Mooney 4-63) by three wickets

Kevin O'Brien stunned England with the fastest hundred in World Cup history as Ireland secured their greatest victory with a monumental three-wicket triumph in Bangalore. O'Brien clubbed a magnificent 113 off 63 deliveries as Ireland earned the highest World Cup run-chase with four balls to spare. After he'd added a match-changing 162 with Alex Cusack, John Mooney joined him to play the innings of his life and help write another famous chapter in Irish sport.

First fifty in 30 balls, second fifty in 20. Holy Shoite. He smashed Matt Hayden's WC fastest hundred record of 66 balls by 16 balls. And Ireland now hold the highest successful chasein world cups.

Hahaha, awesome.
Take that Poms.

Jonathon Trott is fucked in my opinion, he plays for his average, he took no risks with plenty of wickets in hand. Test player only.

The Poms beat South Africa..LOL

England win by 6 runs. Phew! Don't take your eyes off England this tournament! The smiles are fixed back on their faces now after finally finishing on the right side of a thriller. They batted woefully, cluelessly against some spin bowling but put their fielding and bowling nightmares behind them with a stunning display. You wouldn't say their campaign has finally sparked into action but Anderson and Broad found their best and the fielding was very sharp again. Just don't mention the batting. Proof, if anyone doubted it, that ODI cricket does not need truckloads of runs to be exciting. South Africa, for the first half of the game, looked like certain World Cup winners but under their powerhouse top order is a soft lower order. And that word still haunts them. For this brief moment, England are sitting on top of Group B, but that's entirely because they've played so many games
