My mate is there now and sending me picture messages and comments as he goes through the joint. Looks and sounds awesome so I just got a membership and will be heading down after work.

Does anyone here have membership? The place sounds awesome!

i went to the canberra one on saturday. iT is HUGE!!!! some stuff was good and cheap and other things are much the same.. Meat prices were pretty good though.
you can buy the big slabs of rump or porterhouse for good price. the rump was $9 a kilo when you buy it whole. you can buy a 3kg block of cheese if u like.

but from going there i completely understand how americans are so FAT! the lollies they had there and the quantities you buy made sense but thats the reason why so much overweight ppl. instead of buying one pack of lollies like 100grams and eat it you buy a 1kg or more pack for not much extra and then they would consume the whole thing. you could buy a 5.4kg block of toblerone chocolate!!!!!!!!

i went with some friends who just got back from the states. he married a girl over there she said prices are no where near as cheap as in the USA but its still better than woolies or coles.

prices i remember
case of guiness was $53
1L of canadian club $40
tooheys extra dry case $33
600m glad wrap $23
Levi jeans $50
hugo boss jeans $90
Zoo York t shirts $14
The North face soft shell jacket $113 ---- rrp here at kathmandu or mountain design would be over $300 easy
They had the new samsung 55" full hd 3d LED tv for $2500.. in jb hifi its $3290

vege and fruit prices didnt really see as they place was too busy.
but ill be going there to buy a few things soon.

i signed up last night (canberra one), i need to go in tomorrow to get the member card/photo taken. can't wait to see their meet prices :)

I went last week and it was crazy, even getting into the store was a hassle.

I had a quick look around, the value there is pretty amazing. In particular I checked out their fruit/veg section and compared to supermarket prices (I work in F/V at coles), I wouldn't mind shopping around for groceries next time.

The meat, dairy and fruit and veg look awesome. Some good prices, some not that much better.

However the meat has a heaps short shelf life. This isn't an issue for me since I eat it all pretty quickly. But if you don't, keep an eye out as lots of it was on the shelf tonight and had a USE BY (not best before) date of tomorrow.

There's not actually heaps of american stuff there like people are saying. I don't know why they think it's all american food. It's clearly all aus products with a couple of american additions.

I just picked up my card and walked around to check it out. Took an hour to check it all out. Then was hungry so I bought the beef jerky lol. The staff were all so confused at me only buying one thing. Everyone else had one or more trolleys full of stuff.

They also sell nice smelling hot food before you enter, but it looks terrible for you.

They have killer looking 16 inch pizzas to take home and cook as well as buffalo wings, and heaps of other awesome looking foods/meals.

There was just everything. CK and hugo boss boxers, levis and dkny jeans, diamonds and other jewellery, tvs, computers, instruments, optometrist, hearing specialist, books, bbqs, play equipment, golf clubs, tools, lights, a safe!! lol

I'm looking forward to going back for a proper shop.

I went today for a browse only, I checked out the meat section, Woolies prices seemed cheaper to me by a good $3-$4/KG.
Their chicken breast felt too soft/sloppy, like it was full of water.. it was $13/kg and I noticed most meat had expire date of 4/8/11.. they could have atleast offered discounts!

I also can't wait to go back for a proper shop, so many things I wanted to buy today lol

ive heard about this place and ive heard it has madd prices! can wait till i check it out soon. btw do you think the memberships are worth it for the prices saved?
