Break after training?

Im about to finish my 10 week routine based on 1RM I was wondering should I take a week off or jump straight into my new program? Thinking doing 5/3/1 since I know my 1RM now.

Thanks in advance

Depends on you. If you think you need a break then do so. Our body need some every now and then. But if you think you are on a momentum and would like to strike whilst the iron is hot then just go. It really depends on how you feel about your body.

I normally always take a break after 10-12 weeks but I generally feel like I need to take that break - i.e not as intense in the gym, drive to get in the gym is down etc etc - how do you feel currently? Do you still feel like you want to destroy the gym everyday?

That make sense, think my sessions are too long and starting to lose moviation to go, I used to feel like destorying my maxes but maybe a week off might help but worried I might get lazy :/.

Thanks for the advice guys

You wont get lazy after a week lol - I always find it helps to pick up the motivation again - just watch training videos etc during the week - sorta like having a week of sex and watching porn haha - I would still do abit of cardio though - maybe 2-3 walks

I like a break after an intense program gives me a chance to relax and normally i find i come back stronger after a week off

Just do a deload week. Everything at 50% 1rm
Keeps the momentum going.

No breaks for me unless it's an enforced break.

Yup. Not taken a real break in maybe 2 years lol.

Even the last week before a comp I still train. Up to 75% for singles usually.

Then I get straight back into in straight after the comp. Maybe take 2 days off tops. I just lower the volume. (Which is basically a deload).

I just finished a week break and I'm cycling and I still put a kg on and I feel great. Just remember you grow outside of the gym not in the gym. I feel absolutely incredible and will see tonight when I train, but I reckon my strength will also be better.

I think you should take breaks before starting another plan, our body needs some rest also. It is like giving rewards to our own body.

I checked on the scales last night at the gym and put on 2kgs.

Over my week break and came back stronger as well.

I know this going sound stupid I feel like if I took a break, o remember last time I missed just a day and my lifts suffered for it but I guess a break wont hurt and I just add in some cardio in the mean time.
