Bad back stopping workouts

I've had a bad back for years and lately its been stopping my enthusiasm to work out. To curb this I used to take stims to rev me up but lately it has caused sleep issues so i want to stop taking them.
But now i find it waaaayyy harder to get off my arse and train. I train at home and its never been a problem before only recently.
I have been doing SS for 1.5 years and enjoy doing the lifts but my back de-moralises me into not wanting to do it.
I've been thinking of getting rid of my power rack and just focus on kettlebells and barbell without squats.

What do you guys think?

What is bad about your back???

Is it bad because you have bad form in training, or is it unrelated?

bad back from car accident around 8 years ago. Injuries weren't too bad first couple of years after the acco, but as the years roll on the worse it gets

Am seeing a specialist in a fortnight. When I had my accident I flipped the ute onto its roof and I went crashing down square on my head.
This time last years I was squatting 5x5 120kg. Then I had around 6 month break, started back from scratch but can't seem to get past a mental block. Nothing more de-moralizing than having a painful back wanting to do squats.

Sorry to read about your plight.
Do want you enjoy, KB's are good for old people, they have some advantages over barbell work, but get the back fixed.

It's Hard to give my thoughts on this, really.
You haven't given us much.

Can't really help you then, as it's an injury. You need to go with what your doctor thinks and then make up your own mind, no one knows your body better than you.

Personally I would stay away from kettle bells, caused me plenty of back pain so I got rid of them, was not a fan at all, some people love them, again up to you really.

I reckon it's the SS low bar, bum back style squatting making life worse... If your knees are still good, go back to an empty bar and give full range front squats a go.

indomycethin suppositories for inflammation and prodeine forte for pain - a winning combination. The rectal suppositories are more effective for administering anti-inflammatories with the added bonus of getting to put something in your bum if you like that kind of thing.

hahaha. Cheers TTT. I'll give high bar squats a go. Knees are no prob

Jealous :(

edit: high bar back squats might still give you issues depending on which part of your back is fucked and what causes it pain.
Front squats eliminates any spinal compression from the bar that's why I suggested it.
