I am planning on putting 100 down on either Richmond +39 or Melbourne +70 to get the freebet of equal value then use it next week, while taking my initial 100 back out

Don't you mean Richmond -39 or Melbourne +70, either way they will would only be paying about 1.05.

And why would get a free bet?

Ladbrokes has $2 on all faves for Saturdays games, max bet $20, but still have 20 on Ess to win and collect 40.

Ah ok, I am pretty sure you can still do it, just deposit your 100 and if the free bet doesn't get put in ring them up and complain, then if they don't give you the free bet just withdraw your 100 anyway. I have heard a heap of people doing this in Vic and they usually give you the free bet when queried over the phone.

does not work like that; you have to turn your deposited $100 over in bets..
