My latest addition: DIY deadlift jack. Cost about $60 for parts from Bunnings. Cheaper if you forgo the long pole and make it like the ironedge one. It's a mix between these two designs: Shoua's Stuff: Homemade mini deadlift jack How To Build A Mini Deadlift Jack

lol @ Mehdi not being bigger because he doesn't take steroids

I think perspective is needed. SS and SL are not powerlifting programs - that's not their purpose. The programs are designed so that complete novices can quickly become strong in the core barbell lifts. Strong is contextual and in this case it's relative to the general population. Nobody will...

    Abc

I got mine for 470 (440 + 30 postage) in Feb. Called them up and asked for a good price and that's what they offered. I went with the coarse knurling option, which I was told is a notch down in roughness compared to Sticky's deep fine knurling. Has a good balance between grip and comfort -...

    Benching

Nope, I touch it just below the nipple. My shoulders aren't very flexible. I have trouble pointing my elbows out for OHP and I can barely position the bar on my delts for a front squat.

    Benching

I can lower the bar to my chest on warm up sets, but as soon as the weight gets heavy, I feel a lot of strain/stretch in my front delt area. The strain feels like its in the joint directly above my armpits. Same feeling when I lower myself real deep when doing dips. It doesn't feel like my...

Help a beginner purchase some kit!

20kg: 250mm diameter/46mm width Hopefully that's a typo and it's actually 450mm diameter considering: 15kg: 377mm diameter/46mm width The holes look fine for handling. I like the flatness of the plates - looks like they'll stack together nicely on a bar compared to the tri-grip plates.

the what u saw at the gym TODAY thread

Last night I beat two guys to the squat rack (was already waiting there for the previous squatter). They were unhappy and retreated to the leg press and pretty much eyed me the whole time. I'm still a weakling and was working up to 5+ 92.5kg ATG so I felt a bit of pressure. On my last set they...
