Ptc ppp

My vote is do some volume work to help your joints and prepare for the next cycle, just dont over do it. A week off then followed by a volume week is what i reccomend.

And also my 3rd cycle of ppp i didnt get much responce out of my deadlift despite adding 5kg bodyweight and halving the jump (20-->10kg) so dont expect linear gains with this.
Individual miliage may vary

cheers mate, what do you define as volume work?

Finished my first cycle of PPP last week.

Squat went from 122.5kg -> 150kg
Bench stayed at 122.5kg (aimed too high and bombed early)
Deadlift went from 180kg -> 210kg

Aiming for 160/130/220 next cycle. Would aim higher but still on reduced calories.

Has anyone tried PPP with any other lifts? Reckon it would work with MP/Push Press?

I'm doing PPP for mil press.
only set it to increase 5kg for this cycle.

didn't want to say anything till I finished it to see if it worked.
up to week 7 this week (thursday morning) but haven't failed yet.

Considering dropping the sets of 5's in the first few weeks to 3's. I reckon 5x5 on the clean a jerk would be a bit much and just get sloppy.

Thoughts?

Nick - after the jerk, if you are then lowering the weight to your front delts, then thighs, then floor, then I'd guess that 5x5 will be too much towards the last few sets.

but if you are dropping it from above your head, then it might not be as bad.

RIP suggests Powercleans be done as 5 sets of 3 reps... I found this pretty difficult towards the end as I was lowering the weight back to start position, while I was doing his novice program.. but it was after squats and press.

Yeah I will be lowering the weight, not dropping.

I think I'll switch the early 5's to triples.

Prior to Proraw one i was only training 1-3 times a week.. now training 3 days at PTC and 2-3 at home getting great results.. PPP is really working for me i am progressing one week for every session up to week 9 in my 3rd week with no failures and last 2 weeks i have got pbs for all 3 lifts in both sessions.

Currently on 165 program for squat, 125 program for bench and 200 program for deadlift

PPP along with a good eating plan is a great mix, i am amazed with the result i am getting from this program

SQ: 152.5kg | BP(paused): 115kg | DL: 190kg @ 78 kg

I don't know how you do that mate. I do 3 days, lift as heavy and as long as I can, there's no way in hell I could do 2 more days like that.

Johnathon is absolutely killing it, as are his 2 training partners.

Like Gareth, he does very little assistance work, just the 3 main lifts, and now 3 times a week.

While Alen, Daryl and Max arent currently doing PPP, they are squatting, benching and deadlifting 3 x week, as well as front squatting, cleaning, jerking, pressing another 3 x week.

Thats what I was talking about in the newsletter about hard training.

I should add I was influenced by Dezso Ban and Anthony Ditillo in regards to hard training, way back in the 80's from the original Ironman magazines

I agree with Johnathon, well done mate!

Until about 4 months ago I was training 2-3 times a week., now I train 4 times. That's when I started PPP.
I started on 160/110/200, and although I found it a bit tough at the start I didn't fail once in any of the programs. It really surprised me how quickly I achieved my goals.

Now I'm 3 weeks into 180/125/220.

PPP works really well for me too. I can't believe the progress I have been making!

Markos are some guys doing all three lifts of PPP in one session. So they are getting 3 weeks worth of PPP done per week.

Its good seeing the size and strength you have put on in 3 weeks Jack, its amazing what a few extra days training on the right program and eating the right foods at the right time can do.

Comes down to correct training technique too, i have picked up some valuable pointers that have helped me lift more than i thought i could lift.

PPP all the way

I'm really enjoying PPP at the moment as well.

Training 3 times is more than enough for me. I also have a demanding job, and a young family so training more than that would really affect my family life.

Nice work for those that can.

Gareth, Wayne, Will, Jonathon and Jack are doing 3 weeks in one, and progressing well.

This cant work indefinitely, but they eat right, recover and progress. I mean there numbers are their for all to see, not just in the gym, they actually compete.

I read most journals on here, I wish I could drag some of the guys into PTC to train with these guys to show them whats possible
