Shouldnt the real question be drinkability.
Whether or not chucking down a protein shake will force you to chuck it back up.
whey protein IS (refined) powdered milkI only just tried WPC for the first time the other day (the first time I've tried any kind of "supplement", actually), and it's a pretty strong taste. Tastes like cow, lol. Or maybe powdered milk, a bit. Not the best, anyway.
Is WPI much different? Stronger/weaker/other?
Not to stop you in your tracks here, Dreadlift, but the REAL question for protein powders SHOULD be the overall protein % you are getting versus price.
Maximum protein content with little filling to make up as much of the 90% WPI was intended to be.
The lower that 90% mark goes down, it should reflect price wise.
This is '101 shopping' for protein powder in what can be a shady industry. Taste is always going to be better in a powder that gets lower and lower in overall percentage protein because what is taking over are all the things like flavouring, sugars and thickeners to turn it closer to a Macca's thick shake.
One has to decide what they want. Be paying for 'taste,' regardless if they are getting ripped off protein percentage wise, or tick off their list first in their shopping that it has maximum protein (as close to as unflavoured pure Whey can get) and then also have flavour to match.
A quick look at any nutritional labels in the 100g column listing under 'Protein' and also in the ingredients, will tell you the real quality of a product.
Not if you can meet your target daily protein/amino acid requirements from whole foods alone. So the next question is, can you meet your daily protein intake target from whole foods alone?Actually, I thought an even more important question was....do you even need protein powder's full stop?
Of course if you own a supplement company, real food isn't ever enough right!
