Pffft. If I want maize starch then I'll eat:
I think I am going to have to start an Eat Real Food movement or something. Supps, pfft.
not sure your corn cobs would have the same effect, the idea behind WMS is its fast uptake to replace glycogen levels, while maize starch may come from corn, WMS doesnt come from your regular sweet corn variety in the supermarket, not to mention the fact that your regular corn cob needs to be digested aand broken down by stomach acids whereas as the high molecular weight of the powdered WMS allows for rapid absorbtion.
I would be an idiot if i said eating real food wasnt king when it comes to acheiving any goals whether it be weightloss or weight gain.
However, i do both, keeping my diet where i need it and supplementing at the the right time allows me to get gains i dont think i would get without it and to recover quicker so as my weight lifting has a lesser impact on the rest of my life(eg. not so fatigued).
As fadi said, im not producing any proof either, it does its job for me.
My PWO routine is as follows:
imediately after training - 40g WMS, 5g creatine, 5g glutamine, 2g taurine
20 mins after training - 40g WPI, and a banana or two, depending on size
within an hour of training - a meal generally consisting of chicken and veg
