Wisdom teeth+calorie deficit

Hi,
Im got my wisdom teeth out but I plan to start a cutting diet in about 1 to 2 weeks. I heard when you get your wisdoms out, there is a hole left in the jaw bone which takes months to fully heal (as in months for the hole in the jaw bone to get filled with new jaw bone). So the question is, would eating at a calorie deficit affect this healing process?

Just wondering, weird question i know

Hmm I don't think so John. Your food choices will be limited by what you're able to eat though initially? So perhaps cutting is not the best idea right at this moment? Although most people generally lose weight anyway after wisdom teeth removal, because they're intake is restricted.

Jelly, soups, custard, yoghurt, mashed potato, soft, easy to eat foods will be on the agenda...but steak won't be too far away lol

I don't know about the bone growing in timeframe....I'm not an orthodontist.

But I do know Grippy had his wisdom teeth removed not too long ago, hopefully he chimes in here and is able to offer you some advice?

Best of luck!

Takes months to fully heal? Dental surgeon told me there is nothing to worry about with the hole, it gets filled in with a blood clot straight away then gum grows over it, I doubt dieting would affect this to any degree.
I had all 4 of mine out a couple of weeks ago plus an 'extra' baby tooth that was left over. All of them were fine within a couple of days bar one that they really cut and butchered me to get the bugger out. Had them out Wednesday arvo and was eating fairly well by the weekend. Lots of soft stuff my friend, I found fish was an excellent replacement for chicken in almost any dish and so much softer and lighter, pretty much gum it and swallow.
Best of luck.
