for the calves i heard that you should do a sitting calf raise and a standing one. as to hit all the muscles. sets of 20. hit them 3 times a week
The function is to act as a shock absorber.
It's the hip that were power comes from.
A good sprinter has a very short and small calve but a huge arse.
The hevier the calve - the more energy is needed to pull the leg through.
