I don't disagree with your sentiments, but not "at any cost"
it is a boon for guys who can rearrange their tax affairs to pay their wives to be $150K secretaries for a year before they pop out kids
do you think it is fair to cancel the "family tax benefit" for millions, in order to pay a huge bonus to less than 100,000 people?
I don't care about the small previous baby bonus, but removing family tax benefits is pretty wide reaching...
quite a few companies already attract female employees by offering maternity leave schemes as good or better than what the new government is offering...
anyway, will be interesting to see what it does to baby popping statistics, and if it does cost $5 billion per year
be good to see social stats and if it does encourage wealthy women to have kids more often than they do now.
