The following are 5RM goals. I hope to achieve them by June 15 next year (ie my 39th birthday), as this will have been a year since I got my sht together at the gym. I would have set it a bit earlier, but I'll be overseas most of April and will no doubt lose some strength.
To illustrate whats possible, check out these numbers. These are from previous comps at PTC, BATB2, Australia Day 09 and BATB3. One year between the first and last and 7 1/2 months between the last two.
I am in the process of sorting all of that actually. I will only be able to compete on one day, which is the weightlifting comp. My partner will be coming down with me too, not sure about Chris though.
We do the 5 lift comp on the Saturday and the Strongman is on the Sunday.
Have you got a total in your mind you would like to hit. Obviously 550kg will be a soda, aiming for 600 I would think.
Amazing things happen at PTC. Chris had a PB of 245kg in the deadlift prior to the comp. He hit 245kg on his second attempt. We goaded him into going for a PTC record of 266kg. Only when you see the video will you understand how easy he did it. He even shrugged it for fun at the end. A 21kg PB after 7 1/2 hours of lifting.
Yep, that is exactly what I want to experience. I am not sure on what to aim for at the moment. I will have a better idea when I complete this macro cycle and set some new PB's.
I think if I aim to get over 600kg total is a good goal. It will take some hard work, though I think it is achievable if I keep my mind on it. I will need to add 80kg to my current total. I reckon my deadlift will come up a bit and that will help me with 30 or so kg.
