Spotting the squat

I've been incorporating a lot more rep work in my training recently and I quite like the change of pace
Starting to get problems from just going heavy all the time. Bench is still fine, impossible for me to go heavy enough! But deadlifting is starting to take its toll
 
Strength training is above all else, a participatory art, it's not a science, it's an activity and if you don't do it, you don't get it.
 

They are deterring the hug spot because if a squatter loses the bar off his back it could endanger the spotter. There were a couple of broken arms on spotters to help inspire this rule change. As a rule any squats from 200 up will have double side spotters too.

Lol....At gayness factor when mate hugs mate from behind on 100kg reps....Bar spot is definitely the way forward...
