Hey guys, i dont usualy post in here. My open topic is salt. We all know suagr is worse than fat, and we all know that there are good fats and bad fats, what many of us dont know is how much salt we are actually consuming. Our bodys daily allowance is 2-4 grams. How many of us indirectly have 5-10 times this? All of the evidnce leads to higher blood pressure and the related illness's from this. Kidney failure, heart failure. I saw something on channel 7 tonight and it was eye opening in the fact that food manufacturers wont change or lower the salt content they use. All of this salt is not what you would use to season or cook but the salt the processed food has before you add more to it. We have been duped. For the health of yourself and your kids start checking some labels. If a label has sodium listed then the salt content is double. Where talking cereals, meats, sauces, bread, butter, spreads and dips, almost everything that is processed. Check for yourselfs.

Excess contributes to high blood pressure and heart disease... if consumed together with a diet high in saturated fats (meat and dairy fats). Alone, it does nothing.

As for processed food, with or without salt it's crap anyway. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegies, nuts and beans, some meat, fish and dairy, some rice, pasta, bread (grainy) and spuds, and you'll be right. If you can read, you can cook. If you have time to watch Today Tonight, you have time to cook.

Then you won't have to worry about added salt or MSG or artificial colours or any nonsense like that.
