Melbourne Storm fullback Billy Slater sidelined up to eight weeks after injuring knee in Origin II
QUEENSLAND and Melbourne Storm will both feel the effects of star fullback Billy Slater's knee injury, which will sideline him for three to eight weeks.
Storm officials were told this morning Slater had suffered a grade two posterior cruciate ligament strain, with scans this afternoon to determine the severity.
But there remains a chance Slater could miss as many as eight weeks, which a Storm official said was the "worst case scenario".
Slater injured his knee in the first half of the Maroons' loss in Sydney last night but played out the match in some discomfort.
The third and deciding Origin game will be played in Brisbane on July 4, and the early prognosis would rule Slater out of that.
