Hey

Has anyone heard of POWER - REP RANGE - SHOCK training?
If so, is it advisable for me to give it a go even though i've only been back lifting weights for 5-6 months? What are your thoughts?

Cheers

Yu can use all kinds of techniques to stimulate growth. Whe you feel your current training scheme is not delivering results anymore you can try your shock training to stimulate new growth, but remember to stick with a program for a few weeks at least, do not chop and change every week like some do.

Thanks, I do have a stupid question. Last night i worked on my chest, for example
bench press:
1st Set = warm up of 15 x 40kg
2nd 8x 60kg
3rd 7 x 60kg
4th 5 x 60kg

Thats all the weights I currently have and doesn't include the bar. So my question is: next week should I aim to increase the amount of reps for each set or work on getting 8 reps out of set 3 & 4? Or increase the weight? What do you think?

What I do is have a rep gaol. Let say 10 reps. Now you use 60kg, when you can get 3 sets of 10 reps then move up 2.5kg and do it again. Simple yeah?
Now you only got 8,7 and 5. I would stay on 60kg until 3 sets of 10 is acheived then you can increase weight.

I prefer the Lift Big/Eat Big training program.

Basically, you lift heavy weights and really challenge your body mentally and physically, and you eat big to fuel muscle recovery and growth. Drink plenty of water and get sufficient rest.

Then you grow big and strong.
