This is what I was thinking for a start but are they any good ? I see a few people getting this sort of stuff and with gym memberships costing a fortune I nay as well have my own.

I would save money and not worry about bumpers unless you are planning on doing a lot of Olympic lifts.

They are good for oly lifts but no advantage for anything else. You can easily do power cleans with normal plates anyway.

Bumpers don't last for ever. Mine are falling apart. They are very thick and take up a lot of space on the bar.
