Qatar for 2022

I don't care about the rest of the world as they don't play Aussie Rules Football at an elite level ;P

The point that matters is.... In 'Australia' we play many different forms of 'football' and Aussie Rules Football is the most popular
if your in vic yeah. not many people in sydney give a f**k about afl

Unless you're a millionaire, the world cup really is a once in a lifetime spectacle (to watch live in your own country). Knowing that getting (or trying to get) the World Cup in our country may be getting severely hampered by a couple million bogans who can't bare to miss Parra vs. Penriff or Collingwood vs. Essendon for a week or two shits me to no avail.

Qatar was a poor choice I think the USA or Japan would have provided FIFA with a lot better exposure and revenue but most likely a lot less bribery.

Good call mate, spot on. These f-wits are too narrow-minded to appreciate a true high-level sporting spectacle.

I'm not a hardcore soccer follower but I know enough to realise that the level of skill and ability that guys like Christiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry have is streets ahead of all those NRL forwards who just hit it up the guts for the first 3 tackles. Nil skill in that...if one of those meatheads can offload a pass as he's falling it's regarded as awesome skill...wow, yeah, very skillful....must take hours of practice, lol....

As for Gay.F.L. when I see the ball on the ground and they just keep smacking it further along the ground, I think geez, 6 year olds could do that.

I'm not saying NRL or Gay.F.L players don't have skill but soccer (football) guys need a high level of skill throughout the game. There aren't aspects of the game that you could get away with being limited. They just need to fix up the diving, otherwise it's far and away a superior game.

I had a transfer here at 3am and it was 50 degrees with dust storms.

What the fuck FIFA?

I've just been reading a bit about Qatar's bid on SMH this morning. The more I read about the place, the more insane this decision seems. Average temp in July, when the final is held, will be 46.

Seth, you are a fucken joke. FIFA would do well to vote this prick into retirement.

Did anyone here his speech after the decision? Moron.

I am proud to be apart of the millions of bogans who don't want soccer here, it will have its 15 minutes and then piss off. Yeah I can accept that what Henry and Ronaldo do with a ball is highly skillful but comparing it to guys who put there bodies on the line every week is apples and oranges mate. You also forget to mention the ball players who kick and pass to score tries. Some of these players display high degrees of athleticism and strength.

FIFA is a corruption-riddled joke, almost as corrupt as the ICC is toothless.

I paid good money to watch a game in the 2002 WC in Japan, I got 2 tickets more than $200 each. They were selling them as A, B or C class tickets. i regarded it as a special event so thought I'd pay more and get the A class tickets.

I get to the game and the seats were around the quarter line, but about 5 rows from the very top of the grandstand. Grade A tickets ???!!!

I knew then that all the really good, or even reasonably good seats, would have been taken up by a friend of a friend of someone in the know, some one with a connection in FIFA. It's disgusting...won't be making that mistake again...happy to watch it on tv in future.

no real different then any other major sporting event or concert , to get good seats you need to be in the circle

I don't follow soccer but i understand the skill level behind the players , the fifa conditions are pretty crap , what with no 3rd party advertising within the city , meaning that billboards and crap need to be taken down , no advertising of other sporting events months before the worldcup , and no cars around venue plus a host of other crap
