Q to the guys that are married or about to get married...do you already know ur going to get married but its just about when u do....me and my gf have been together for 3 yrs...and we have told eachother we will marry eachother we just have to wait for the right time...i.e when both of us have finished uni etc etc
I guess what im saying is it a surprise to them that your asking them or is it just a matter of time when you did/will ask them...
i was engaged at one point, we both knew we would get married, for us it was just when i would propose. she knew i would just didnt know when , where or how. after 6 months enagaged all went down the poop shoot and she said bye.. lol.... oh well thats life
Yeh ask the folks, they will like you even more LOL
Logic? I assume you mean reason behind this?
I think it shows respect, if you are a parent I would imagine you also would like to be asked.
Perhaps its not as common these days to ask but i felt it was the right thing.
+ we all had a nice dinner and a bottle of wine so why not???
ALWAYS ask the (father) parents.. its pretty much just how its done, shows respect to parents and that your a decent person. If i had a daughter id want the guy marrying her to ask for my permission or blessings first.
Brendon just using your quote to illustrate so
not specifically targeted at you per se.
Anyway, it's quite interesting all the comments (thanks).
I'm not a father so can't comment on that aspect but
I can see how asking the parents can fit within to
this context.
I'm curious to know what would happen if the parents
said NO!... lol...No comment necessary of course.
Thank you gents.
Devante.
