Nurse charged with murder over deadly nursing home fire

Police have charged a 35-year-old registered nurse with four counts of murder following a fire that killed four elderly people at a nursing home in Sydney's west.

The fire broke out at the facility on Hambledon Road, Quakers Hill, at about 5am (AEDT) on Friday.

Three residents died in the blaze, while 32 others were taken to a number of Sydney hospitals.

Fifteen of them were admitted to the intensive care units at Royal North Shore and Concord Hospitals, and a fourth person died late on Friday afternoon.

Following extensive inquiries by detectives, a man was arrested on Friday night.

The male nurse from Quakers Hill was charged early today with four counts of murder.

friggen asshole, he prob just hated his job and running after them etc. My Mum and sister are nurses and both have done stints in nursing homes. Both went back to hospitals as the elderly really take some extra looking after and can become a bit bitter at the nurses. My sister said they are hard to look after if they are are totally gone as well, cause you really have to do everything for them where as most hospital patients are more coherent and will do as they are told a bit more than the older ones. That being said, they certainly don't deserve any less respect or anything, this jerk is just a psycho basted.
