Recently we were fortunate enough to sponsor one of the classes of Strongman at the Giants Live at FitX in Melbourne.
For those that haven't seen a strongman event, they are definitely better appreciated live. Seeing these monsters in action is incredible, the fact that they have do to a multitude of strength feats one after another is awesome, as in many cases it ends up being a battle of attrition.
One of the stand outs of the day was Michael Vrljic, a giant of a man, who has masses of potential.
For a guy who only started lifting weights back in 2004, and has only been a strongman for a little over 6 months, he arguably has more potential on the world stage than any other Australian.
Michael is dead on 2 metres tall, weighs 140kg, can log press 160kg while deadlifting 340kg.
He has no real weaknesses in strongman and given his young age (by strongman standards) of 30, many people are very excited to see how far he can go.
We were very fortunate as Michael actually approached us, he introduced himself at FitX and while we are always looking for potential like his, he pointed out that he had actually been buying our products for a long time, and was a huge fan of both our brands, Bioflex and Bulk Nutrients.
Given that, and the fact Michael is such a presentable guy with a very clear focus on reaching his goals, the decision to sponsor him was an easy one.
We are very much looking forward to assisting Michael in his career as a strongman and hope we can be involved for a long time, working with him as he makes a mark on the world scene.
